In 2011 they released the 70s disco throw back ‘Foreign Language feat. Filsonik first made his mark back in the mid- naughties with his signature drum programming and Latin rhythms regularly laying the foundations on tracks from the great, Timmy Regisford. Later the two released a number of co-productions before Filsonik went on to release solo work and further co-productions on labels including Yoruba and Restricted Access. 2009 saw the New York producer’s “Diva Jaguar” signed to Berlin’s, These Days, and label boss Argy then went on to re-release the Filsonik-Regisford NYC classic “Can U”, featuring his own special edit. Throughout this time Filsonik was also a key member of Dennis Ferrer’s Objektivity crew, establishing himself as official resident for the label’s parties. Having seen the rise of The Martinez Brothers at close quarters it was no surprise to find our man working closely with the guys in the studio and traveling throughout Europe with them in the summer of 2011. Having rocked the Circo Loco floor at DC10 last summer and with a 2012 Ibiza residency fast approaching, the temperature is rising around Filsonik. Having closed 2011 by seeing his track “Tamur” included on the Desolat X Sampler and kicking off this year with a hugely supported remix of Lilith’s “Freak You” on Memoria Recordings, our man from NYC is ready to stoke the flames further, with his debut full release for the Dutch label. His new double-header is lead by the wonderful sun-kissed vocal number, “Dolli.” Those Latin vibes flow freely once again on both vocal and instrumental, before before joined by the bass-heavy and brilliantly deep “Soulful Thang.”

To commemorate the impending Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF), we’ve shifted gears and provide a two track punch from Ukranian wonder-producer, Spartaque. Starting off with a big room monster, Empathogen, Spartaque applies the renaissance sound of the moment with an arpeggiated bassline and futuristic, darkly-tinged vocals. Pumping low-end, staccato percussion, and tension building risers amalgamate into a energetic soundscape that means business. Next up is the more light-hearted, “Funking My Housewife”; a blissful hands-in-the-air rocker with undulating bass wrapped around bright tech stabs, a rasping synth line, and cool succinct percussion fills.
