Having only just announced the details of our brand new Lower East agency, we now look forward to the next release from our very own Lee Brinx. In addition to his duties running the label, Lee has found the time to turn in a top EP that boasts three bass-driven cuts that each display a genuine immunity to categorization, something that we are very proud of. Touching a wide variety of influences, Lee’s Multiple Choice EP has a dancefloor flavour but goes way beyond just club functionality and gets you totally lost in his intoxicating soundscape. ‘Summa That’ comes full of attitude. Punchy drums are soon joined by a full bodied, deep bassline that struts along the bottom end throughout. Subtle melodies build whilst simultaneously merging with warm pads until the entire track is awash in rich colours. Skankified vocals give the track a ghetto attitude, adding yet more flavour and personality. ‘Choices’ picks up the tempo to find itself on more of a deep house tip. A rolling bassline provides the backbone as crisp beats and original whispered vocals by Tina Geru, breathe nicely over the top. It’s a sleek and modern production full of power and energy, equally as perfect for the start of the night as it is in the wee hours. ‘Freaky’ finds Lee in a more reflective mood with a consummately stripped back, vocal-led house jam. The vibe is laidback and infused with plenty of melody, whilst still packing a punch, highlighting Lee’s unique ability to settle into lush grooves and warm, natural tones. Stepping back from his astute A&R skills, Lee provides Lower East with a sparkling EP of his own. And just as he knows how to pick a track for release, so too is he completely on point when making his own. We are delighted to welcome you to Lee Brinx’s Multiple Choice EP.

German- born Andre Lodemann has been a DJ for more than 20 years. Growing up in a small town in the former German Democratic Republik, Around the time of the German Reunification Lodemann found himself involved in the East Berlin techno and trance scene and by 1990 he had purchased his first set of Technics MKII. And so his DJ career began… Citing his greatest influences as Masters at Work, Mateo and Matos, Kerri Chandler and François Kevorkian, Lodemanns musical vision is to create atmosphere, arouse emotion and touch people musically. Now Lodemann releases his first Album Fragments. The double CD album encompasses both his creative work with original mater ial and with remixes done for other artists It is not a typical album but a showcase of an incredible creative output of an artist determined to create emotional music off the beaten track avoiding typical building blocks and tacky software gimmicks. Lodemann never thought he would ever become a full fledged Dj and producer as he had followed a professional carrier for over 10 years as a social worker with juveniles in the outskirts of Berlin. In these years he passed on his skills in production, djing and the organization of music- events to the young people he was taking care of in his job. The fire for the music was still heavely glowing in his heart so he decided to quit his job to become a full time artist. Since this decision his output has been vast and very creative. In 2001 Andre started to produce music and over the last decade he has released 12- inches and remixes on labels including Moods n Grooves, Simple Records, Room with a View, Z Records, Freerange and Buzzinfly amongst others. His tunes Where are you now? and The Light became hugely popular with the worldwide underground DJ circuit. Other highlights include remixes for Tracey Thorn, Omar and Akabu. Andres own label Best Works Records was founded in 2009 together with an old college friend Daniel Best, a well- known music promoter from Berlin. Much of this material is presented here.

After starting the year with a bang with releases on Culprit, Leftroom and Crosstown Rebels, Gavin Herlihy returns to Get Physical with his next EP, ‘Positive Thing’. The title track is a heavy blend of beats and reverb with a deep house vibe pouring out of it. A lot of pressure builds up in this track and escapes slowly like a hole in a tire to energize the floor. Beautiful synth work radiates throughout the mix, all leading up to a dreamy vocal line that stays in your mind while the bass returns and the crowd is in motion. Inxec & Droog take things further, with ambient synth work full of LFO and kicks. They take the bassline for a walk in the basement, while the vocal line stands in front of the mix. Chords come into the mix and warm up the night like pills from your pocket. ‘Rhea’ is a catchy, 80s synthpop inspired funk piece, sure to play in your head long after the party is over. The last track, ‘How We Do It’ features a deep wavy bassline under an almost dub inspired ambience of vocal cuts and delay, set in motion by a groovy percussive set. This is a deep track and ripe for dancefloors in mid-summer heat.
