Swiss born David Keno began his musical life learning classic instruments such as the guitar and drums when he was 12. After playing in various rock bands he discovered his love of electronic music. He bought a drum machine and an old Korg synthesizer and started to experiment. Since then he has released with many high profile labels and even got his own Keno Records label. This is David Keno’s debut on the Noir Music imprint and we are honoured at finally being able to add him to the NM family. Villains Is such a great effort from Mr. Keno. An instrumental that just sucks you in with its addictive groove and superb bassline. This track has been a secret weapon for Noir & David for quite some time and both have reported amazing crowd reactions. Daniel Dexter (Poker Flat, Off) has taken the oldschool route for his remix. Immense 90s inspired beats, groove and hooks sucks you right back to the underground garage sound of the late 90s and ensure some proper summer action for the primetime sets. Heroes is a laidback belter that crawls under your skin with the soothing piano and vocal snippets. Whereas Villains is the darker one, Heroes offers a proper loved up summer and sunshine feel. This track grows from each listen and keeps putting a smile on your face. Homework (Exploited, Made To Play) also chose the oldschool journey with their remix. Another great remix by the Dutch duo that never seem to fail to deliver. And once again the flashback’s are coming from the 90s groovy underground house records with a crisp 2012 attitude.

The ever-prolific Steve Mulder continues his attack on the cream of the crop of Techno labels and his Lockdown EP on Respekt is another notch in the proverbial crotch. The original mix of “Lockdown” goes for a slightly tribal approach, with a rolling rhythm section supported by juicy sub bass. Dislocated, metallic riffs seize control of the affair and intertwine with industrial bleeps and post-apocalyptic sensibilities. Picking it up from there, Frankyeffe’s version relies on the funkier edge of the original, focusing on the percussion-laden drums and a heads-down, dubbier vibe. Closing up, we have “Avenger”, which steps into higher gear, with crunchy hats and persistent beeps. More liquid bass expands everything to titanic proportions while a cyclic riff does its business throughout the whole track.

Tom Hades returns on his own label with a monster track called Saga! Since he has been producing so long his style is widely known that every track should have a “dancefloor” killer inside ! First of all there is the Swedish guy called Kim Stockblom aka Kimono who got in touch with techno in his early age when he listened to tracks from Jeff Mills, Derrick May and many other pioneers. Later on he got to meet Swedish fellow guys like Adam Beyer, Cari Lekebusch, … because he is involved in a lot of things happening in the Swedish techno scene. His remix brings the darker, yet groovy side of the track ! The second producer/remixer is UK citizen, Rich Jones. Known for his stuff on Soma & 8SidedDice Rich has made himself a reputation by playing the globe in place like Womb in Tokyo, Fabric in London, … His sound could be described as massive but yet refined in a way only Rich can make a remix sound like this ! Kameleon is a four man collective consisting of good friends Jamie Funk, Nic Morgan, Kaleb and Simon Vice. Originating from the same South London borough the quartet first bonded over a love of music (specifically garage), raving and everything that goes with it. Forging their own sounds within different scenes Jamie, Simon, Nic and Kaleb have built up flourishing reputations both behind the decks and in the studio. As one half duo ‘Vicious Circle’, Simon has released music on some of the most highly regarded Drum N Bass labels, Renegade Hardware & Digital Sound to name few. Add to that a residency at seminal London club ‘The End’ and collaborations with Chase and Status and Simon’s CV speaks for itself. The rest of the crew went down an altogether more 4/4 oriented path with Jamie releasing a slew of deep, techy house cuts on labels such as 1trax & Vitalik earning him a legion of praise along the way. Nic & Kaleb perfected their craft behind the decks with an on-going residency at Ibiza’s now legendary Zoo Project as well as regular dates across some of Europe’s most revered night clubs. Keen to fuse their sounds and collaborate in the studio, Kameleon was born in early 2012. Their first release ‘Confetti’ is aimed squarely at the dance floor and sees the group explore a deep, techy side of house music built around an infectious bass line and cosmic, sci-fi licked synths whilst an incessant vocal and metallic percussion drives the groove. On remix duties Leftroom boss Matt Tolfrey and his protégé Sam Russo turn in a gritty, warped take on ‘Confetti’ that will cater for the more discerning floors, whilst Swiss maestro Dachshund turns in a deftly arranged tech house workout. Kameleon’s arrival is sure to turn a few heads this summer, ‘Confetti’ is out on vinyl & digitally June 4th.
